Getting Started

How do I get started with Xpired?

Download Xpired from the App Store, create an account with your email address, and start scanning! Point your camera at any fruit or vegetable, and our AI will analyze its freshness and provide a score from 0-100%.

What devices are supported?

Xpired requires iOS 15.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. For the best scanning experience, we recommend using an iPhone with a camera capable of high-resolution imaging.

Is there a free version?

Yes! The free version includes 5 scans per day and basic inventory tracking for up to 10 items. Upgrade to Xpired Pro for unlimited scans, recipes, voice feedback, and more advanced features.

Scanning & AI

How does the freshness scanner work?

Our AI analyzes visual indicators of freshness including color, texture, blemishes, and overall appearance. The image is processed securely in the cloud using our trained machine learning models, which provide a freshness score and estimated days remaining.

How accurate is the AI?

Our models have been trained on thousands of produce images and achieve 85%+ accuracy for most common fruits and vegetables. However, results can vary based on lighting, image quality, and produce type. Always use your own judgment for food safety decisions.

What produce types are supported?

Xpired can identify and score 100+ types of produce, including apples, bananas, tomatoes, avocados, berries, leafy greens, citrus, potatoes, onions, and many more. We're constantly adding new produce types based on user feedback.

Do I need internet to scan?

Yes, scanning requires an internet connection as images are processed by our cloud AI. However, your inventory and previously scanned items are available offline.

Account & Billing

How do I subscribe to Xpired Pro?

Open the Xpired app, go to Settings → Subscription, and select your preferred plan (monthly or annual). All payments are processed securely through your Apple ID.

How do I cancel my subscription?

To cancel, open your iPhone Settings → tap your Apple ID name → Subscriptions → Xpired Pro → Cancel Subscription. You'll keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period.

How do I restore my purchases?

In the Xpired app, go to Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchases. This will restore any active subscriptions linked to your Apple ID.

Can I get a refund?

All purchases are handled by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support directly.

Privacy & Data

Is my data secure?

Yes. We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission. Your images are stored securely on Microsoft Azure with encryption at rest. We never sell your personal data to third parties.

What happens to my scan images?

Scan images are used to generate freshness scores and may be retained to improve our AI models. You can opt out of having your images used for AI training in Settings → Privacy.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account in the app: Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data from our systems. Warning: This action cannot be undone.
